What The Hallyu started as a group chat arguing about a drama finale. It became a magazine when we realized nobody was covering the wave the way fans actually talk about it.
The story
Hallyu — the Korean wave — went from regional phenomenon to global culture in a decade. Somewhere along the way, coverage split into two camps: corporate hype machines and academic explainers. The middle — the fan perspective, the "should I actually watch this" — got lost.
We're that middle. Reviews written by people who stayed up for episode drops. Explainers that assume you're smart but new. A shop that funds the writing so no entertainment company ever has to. Independent, fan-run, and unapologetically obsessed.
